Street Fighter IV
Ryu, Ken, and a host of others get back to doing what they do best with Capcom's Street Fighter IV.
Street Fighter fanatics will probably know the story behind Sheng Long, Ken and Ryu's supposed master who was apparently a hidden boss character in Street Fighter II. Sheng Long, of course, never actually existed, but was instead an April Fool's Prank started by EGM which many took as true, making him the most famous fake character in the series' history. Now Ken and Ryu's true master has finally emerged--no, it's not Sheng Long, but Gouken, one of the new playable characters coming to the console versions of the upcoming Street Fighter IV.

Sakura Kasugano
Sakura Kasugano is the plucky little fighter who follows after the great champion Ryu in the Street Fighter franchise.
Gouken (Street Fighter)
Famed in Street Fighter lore as the master Ryu and Ken's master, Gouken is Akuma's brother. He was defeated by Akuma and thought to have died, but he emerged in Street Fighter IV.
Dan Hibiki
Dan Hibiki is a character from the Street Fighter videogame series.
Dan is a character with a slightly unusual origin. In the Street Fighter universe, he’s the comic relief, a martial-arts wanna-be who’s constantly beaten at the hands of superior fighters. In the real world, meanwhile, he’s Capcom’s rib on the characters and games of its chief rival, SNK.

Resident Evil 5
Capcom shows off the anticipated survival horror game.
Capcom held an event this week to show off Resident Evil 5, the latest entry in the reborn survival horror franchise. Two areas inside the game were showcased, the first being the same basic demo we've seen over the past few months, which has morphed into the upcoming public demo. On the other hand, the second area featured never-before-seen areas and gameplay that hinted at what else the game is going to offer. More importantly, the new areas gave us a glimpse of cinematic sequences that offered some bits of information on the storyline. Given that we're gluttons for punishment and curious about the story, we dove right in to face any number of deaths in the promising game.

Killzone 2
We take our most extensive look at Killzone 2's campaign by going a full six chapters deep.
Because so much of the gaming public's attention is focused on scrutinizing every Killzone 2 screenshot to see whether the graphics will stack up to that infamous E3 2005 trailer, it's all too easy to forget that it's a real, honest-to-goodness game with a real, honest-to-goodness release date not far off. Sony recently reminded us of this by giving us the opportunity to play through the first six chapters of the campaign. What may not surprise you is that, yes, Killzone 2 is an absolute stunner in motion. But if you haven't been following the progress of the game, you'll be pleased to know that it's also an intense and exciting experience with the potential to work alongside Resistance 2 to provide a serious one-two punch of PlayStation 3-exclusive shooters.

Tekken 6
Namco showed us a brief peek of its upcoming slugfest, and it left us hungry for more.
At the recent Atari Live showcase in central London, Namco Bandai was on hand to show off the latest in the Tekken series. Sadly, we're yet to get hands-on with the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version of the game, but project lead Katsuhiro Harada-san was happy to demonstrate some of its features for us.
Tekken 6 has 40 characters in total, the greatest number in the series to date. Harada-san pointed out a few of the key characters to us such as Lars, a Swedish fighter sporting a rock star look, and Alisa Bosconovitch, a robot who can throw her head at opponents with explosive results, and can fire her limbs off. Meanwhile, Bob is an obese, barrel-chested American fighter who deliberately gained weight to improve his performance. Combined with his unusually fast speed, this should make him a formidable opponent. Leo is a German kung fu-style fighter with effeminate looks and a questionable gender. Zafina is the first Middle Eastern character to feature in the game; others to be included for the first time in a console version of the game are Dragunov and Lili, from the PSP's Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. In total there are eight new characters since Tekken 5.
